FMCSA Updates Policy on Calculating and Publicizing Driver, Vehicle, and Hazardous Materials Out-of-Service Rates and Crash Rates

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is updating its policy on calculating and publicly disclosing driver, vehicle, and hazardous materials out-of-service rates and crash rates. The new policy will switch from a calendar year cycle to a fiscal year cycle, starting from October 1 of a given year to September 30 of the following year, providing a 3-month preview of the rates before the registration cycle begins on January 1.
