Removing the Waiting Period for Entitlement to Social Security Disability Insurance Benefits for Individuals With Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

The Social Security Administration has removed the 5-month waiting period for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits for individuals with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) who were approved on or after July 23, 2020, as mandated by the ALS Disability Insurance Access Act of 2019.
