FAA Adopts New Airworthiness Directive for GE CF34-8 Turbofan Engines
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has adopted a new airworthiness directive (AD) for General Electric Company (GE) CF34-8 model turbofan engines due to two in-flight engine shutdowns caused by failures of the combustion outer liner shell. The directive requires a borescope inspection or visual inspection of the combustion outer liner shell, potentially leading to its replacement.
