Control of Deuterium That Is Intended for Use Other Than in a Nuclear Reactor Under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)

The U.S. Department of Commerce has published a final rule to revise its regulations regarding the export of deuterium for non-nuclear end use, transferring the licensing authority from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS). This change aims to control the export of deuterium under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
