EPA Grants Exemption for Calcium Bisulfate in Food-Contact Surfaces
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has established an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of calcium bisulfate, a buffering agent used in antimicrobial formulations applied to food-contact surfaces, allowing levels up to 2,000 parts per million (ppm). SCG Solutions, LLC. submitted a petition to the EPA under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA) to request this exemption.
