FAA Proposes Airworthiness Directive for Pratt & Whitney Turbofan Engines

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is proposing a new airworthiness directive (AD) to address cracked 15th stage high-pressure compressor (HPC) disks in certain Pratt & Whitney (PW) turbofan engines, specifically models PW4074 and PW4077, with part number (P/N) 55H615 installed. The proposed directive aims to prevent engine failure and damage to the airplane by requiring removal of the affected disks within 12,000 cycles or implementing a drawdown plan with inspections.
