U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Lists Atlantic Pigtoe as Threatened Species and Designates Critical Habitat

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has listed the Atlantic pigtoe, a freshwater mussel species found in Virginia and North Carolina, as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, and designated approximately 563 river miles of critical habitat for the species.
