U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Denies Petition for Rulemaking on Decommissioning Trust Fund Access

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has denied a petition submitted by EnergySolutions, LLC, which sought to revise regulations allowing access to the decommissioning trust fund for the removal of major radioactive components before permanent cessation of operations.
