NRC Approves American Society of Mechanical Engineers' Code Cases

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has amended its regulations to incorporate revisions of code cases published by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), allowing nuclear power plant licensees to use these code cases as voluntary alternatives to engineering standards for construction, inspection, and testing of nuclear components.
