NRCS Rejects Proposed Guidance for Nonindustrial Private Forest Land Identification

The US Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has decided not to adopt its proposed guidance for identifying nonindustrial private forest land (NIPF), following public comments received during a 30-day comment period that closed on January 19, 2021. The decision was made in response to 139 comments from various stakeholders, including Indian Tribes, state agencies, non-governmental organizations, and individuals.
