NHTSA and EPA Propose New Fuel Efficiency and Emissions Standards for Heavy-Duty Vehicles

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have published proposed rules to improve fuel efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions for heavy-duty vehicles, following the President's directive in May 2010.
