NOAA Announces Exempted Fishing Permit Application for Pacific Coast Groundfish Fishery

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has announced the receipt of an application for an exempted fishing permit (EFP) from the West Coast Seafood Processors Association, Environmental Defense Fund, Oregon Trawl Commission, and Midwater Trawlers Cooperative. The EFP would allow vessels fishing under the West Coast Groundfish Trawl Rationalization Program's Shorebased Individual Fishing Quota Program to target pelagic rockfish species with more flexibility than current regulations.
