U.S. Copyright Office Issues Interim Rule on Royalty Reporting and Distribution by Mechanical Licensing Collective

The U.S. Copyright Office is issuing an interim rule requiring the mechanical licensing collective to report and distribute royalties paid by digital music providers to copyright owners under the Orrin G. Hatch-Bob Goodlatte Music Modernization Act, with regulations establishing the timing and form of royalty statements to be delivered to copyright owners.
