TVA Adopting Preferred Alternative for Gallatin Fossil Plant Surface Impoundment Closure and Restoration Project

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) has decided to adopt the preferred alternative for closing the Ash Pond Complex at the Gallatin Fossil Plant, a move aimed at eliminating wet Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) storage and complying with federal regulations, as outlined in the Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) published on August 7, 2020.
