Commerce Control List: Proposed Controls on “Software” for the Operation of Certain Automated Nucleic Acid Assemblers and Synthesizers; Request for Comments

The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), part of the US Department of Commerce, is seeking public comments on proposed export controls on software for automated nucleic acid assemblers and synthesizers. The proposed controls aim to prevent the misuse of this technology for generating biological pathogens and toxins.
