VA Amends SGLI and FSGLI Regulations to Allow Spousal Coverage

The Department of Veterans Affairs is updating its rules for Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance (SGLI) and Family Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance (FSGLI) to allow eligible members to add coverage for their spouses, without requiring a medical examination, within 240 days of marriage, service entry, or separation, or by applying for coverage with a medical exam after the 240-day period.
