Federal Government Proposes Changes to Electronic Records Management Regulations
The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is proposing amendments to its electronic records management regulations to include standards for digitizing permanent federal records, allowing agencies to dispose of original records when appropriate, in accordance with the 2014 Federal Records Act amendments. Additionally, NARA is revising its records schedule review provisions to require agencies to review all schedules ten years old or older every five years, based on the NARA approval date.
