FMCSA Receives Applications for Exemptions to Hearing Requirement for Hard of Hearing and Deaf Drivers

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has announced the receipt of 20 applications for exemptions from the hearing requirement in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) to operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) in interstate commerce, which would enable hard of hearing and deaf individuals to drive CMVs across state lines.
