Milk in the Northeast and Other Marketing Areas; Order Amending the Orders

The US Department of Agriculture has finalized a rule maintaining the compositional standard for fluid milk products, which includes a 6.5% nonfat milk solids criterion and a 2.25% true milk protein criterion. The rule also sets pricing guidelines for milk and milk-derived ingredients in products meeting the definition and provides exemptions for certain products, such as drinkable yogurt and meal replacements, which were approved by a referendum of dairy producers.
