NRC Confirms Effective Date for Amendment to NAC International NAC-UMS Universal Storage System Listing

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has confirmed the effective date of October 19, 2021, for a direct final rule that amended the NAC International NAC-UMS Universal Storage System listing to include Amendment No. 8 to Certificate of Compliance No. 1015, which allows for the storage of damaged spent fuel from boiling-water reactors with higher enrichment and burnup levels.
