Connecticut Requests Census Bureau to Adopt New County-Equivalents
The State of Connecticut has formally requested the Census Bureau to adopt its nine planning regions as county-equivalent geographic units for collecting and disseminating statistical data, replacing the eight counties that ceased functioning in 1960. The change will be implemented internally by 2022, with public data reflecting the change starting in late 2022.
