USPTO Considers Changes to Patent Trial and Appeal Board Proceedings to Align with Innovation and Investment Goals

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is reviewing proposed rules to modify inter partes review and post-grant review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board to better align with its mission to promote innovation and protect investment, while also providing a less-expensive alternative to district court litigation and protecting against patentee harassment.
