Television Broadcasting Services Corpus Christi, Texas

The Commission has before it a petition for rulemaking (Petition) filed by Scripps Broadcasting Holdings, LLC (Scripps or the Petitioner), licensee of KRIS-TV, channel 13, Corpus Christi, Texas, requesting the substitution of channel 26 for channel 13 at Corpus Christi in the DTV Table of Allotments. Scripps states that it has received numerous complaints from viewers saying that they are unable to receive the station on channel 13, and that it is apparent that the KRIS-TV VHF signal is not providing viewers with the quality of service provided by UHF stations in the market. Scripps further states that the station is now silent, after a wind storm in April 2020 caused the tower to collapse, and Scripps would prefer to construct a new UHF facility on channel 26 in order to significantly improve off-air service, rather than replace the VHF channel 13 facility.

Promoting Fair and Open Competitive Bidding in the E-Rate Program; Schools and Libraries Universal Service Support Mechanism

In this document, the Federal Communications Commission (Commission) announces that the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has approved until November 30, 2027 an information collection associated with the rules for the Universal Service Schools and Libraries program contained in the Commission's Promoting Fair and Open Competitive Bidding in the E-Rate Program; Schools and Libraries Universal Service Support Mechanism Report and Order (Report and Order), WC Docket No. 21-455, CC Docket No. 02-6; FCC 26-30. This document is consistent with the Report and Order, which stated that the Commission would publish a document in the Federal Register announcing the effective date of the new information collection requirements.

Protecting Against National Security Threats to the Communications Supply Chain Through the Equipment Authorization Program

In this document, the Federal Communications Commission (Commission or FCC) takes further steps to strengthen its equipment authorization program against national security risks to the communications supply chain. The Commission closes a component-part loophole by prohibiting authorization of devices that incorporate logic-bearing hardware components produced by an entity identified on the Commission's Covered List, where the device would itself be prohibited from authorization had the Covered List entity produced the entire device. The Commission also requires that any modification or permissive change to equipment by an entity identified on the Covered List undergo full certification, clarifies that its marketing rules reach any entity (including online marketplaces) that markets unauthorized equipment, and requires online marketplaces, subject to limited exceptions, to display a device's FCC ID at the online point of sale. Finally, the Commission amends its definition of "critical infrastructure," as used on the Covered List, and corrects two administrative errors in its rules.
