FDA Clears PEPCID Tablets for Sale

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has ruled that the 20mg and 40mg PEPCID (famotidine) tablets were not withdrawn from the market due to safety or effectiveness concerns. This decision means the FDA will not initiate procedures to revoke approval of abbreviated new drug applications (ANDAs) related to this product, and will continue to approve new applications as long as they meet regulatory requirements.
