Import Regulations for Horses

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is proposing changes to regulations for importing horses, including extending the time horses can spend in a region with contagious equine metritis before re-entry without testing, and adding requirements for health certifications and shipping containers. The proposed amendments aim to align U.S. regulations with international standards and improve the health and safety of imported horses.
