HHS Proposes Amendment to Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder Patient Records Regulation

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is proposing to amend its Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder Patient Records regulation to clarify when a court can authorize the disclosure of confidential communications made by patients with substance use disorders, including in cases involving serious crimes not committed by the patient.
