EPA Exempts Alkylbenzene Sulfonates from Tolerance Requirement for Antimicrobial Pesticide Formulations

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has granted an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of certain alkylbenzene sulfonates, including dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid, used in antimicrobial pesticide formulations applied to food-contact surfaces in public eating places, dairy-processing equipment, and food-processing equipment and utensils, up to a maximum concentration of 700 parts per million (ppm).
