FMCSA Repeals Hours of Service Restart Provisions

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has amended its hours-of-service regulations for commercial motor vehicle drivers, removing provisions that required a 34-hour restart to include two periods between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. and limiting restarts to once every 168 hours, which were suspended in 2011 due to a lack of evidence showing their effectiveness.
