EPA Proposes Revisions to Emission Standards for Oil and Natural Gas Sector

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing amendments to the new source performance standards (NSPS) for the oil and natural gas sector, which could remove sources in the transmission and storage segment from the source category and rescind methane requirements for production and processing segments, or alternatively, rescind methane requirements for all oil and natural gas sources without removing them from the source category.
