FMCSA Seeks Public Comment on Wilson Logistics' Exemption Request for CLP Holders

FMCSA is seeking public comment on Wilson Logistics' request to exempt Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) holders from requiring a CDL holder to be seated in the front seat while driving a commercial motor vehicle (CMV), allowing CLP holders who have passed the CDL skills test to drive CMVs without a CDL holder present. The exemption, if granted, could promote greater productivity and help individuals return to work faster.
