Pacific Halibut Fisheries: Revisions to Catch Sharing Plan and Domestic Management Measures in Alaska

The US Department of Commerce's National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has finalized a rule requiring annual registration of Charter Halibut Permits (CHPs) with the agency before their use. This regulation aims to improve enforcement of CHP transfer limitations and ownership caps, as well as provide NMFS with additional information on changes in CHP ownership and participation.
