NRC Considers Amendment to Prairie Island Nuclear Facility License

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is reviewing a proposal to amend the Special Nuclear Materials (SNM) License SNM-2506 for the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (PI ISFSI) in Minnesota, following an environmental assessment that concludes a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) and a safety evaluation of the proposed license renewal.
