USPTO Delays DOCX Filing Surcharge Fee, Encourages Applicants to Switch

The USPTO has delayed the effective date of the surcharge fee for patent applications not filed in DOCX format until January 1, 2023, and is now allowing applicants to submit temporary PDF versions of their applications alongside DOCX files when filing in Patent Center.
