FCC Adopts Rule to Protect Communications Supply Chain from National Security Threats

The Federal Communications Commission has adopted a rule that prohibits the use of Universal Service Fund funds to purchase equipment from companies posing a national security threat to the communications supply chain, designating Huawei and ZTE as covered companies, and directing an information collection to assess the extent of prohibited equipment in current networks.
