FDA Issues Guidance for Sponsors of Animal Antimicrobial Drugs to Bring Under Veterinary Oversight

The FDA has released a final guidance document recommending that sponsors of certain animal antimicrobial drugs voluntarily change their marketing status from over-the-counter to veterinary prescription, with the goal of limiting antimicrobial resistance in animals.
