BASF Corporation has submitted a petition to the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) for a determination of nonregulated status for a genetically engineered soybean resistant to the soybean cyst nematode and 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD-4) inhibitor herbicides, in an effort to expedite its commercialization.
