Special Authority To Enable Funding of Broadband and Smart Utility Facilities Across Select Rural Development Programs

The US Department of Agriculture's Rural Development agencies are issuing a final rule to establish the authority to enable funding for broadband and smart utility facilities in select rural development programs. This rule will assist rural families and small businesses in gaining access to broadband service by allowing recipients of RD loans, grants, or guarantees to use up to 10% of the provided amount for broadband infrastructure construction in areas with inadequate broadband service.
