FMCSA Receives Applications for Exemptions from Diabetes Prohibition for Commercial Motor Vehicle Drivers

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has announced the receipt of 46 applications for exemptions from the prohibition against individuals with insulin-treated diabetes mellitus (ITDM) operating commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) in interstate commerce, which would allow these individuals to drive CMVs in interstate commerce if granted.
