FAA Amends Class E Airspace at Knoxville and Madisonville Airports

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has amended Class E surface airspace at Knoxville Downtown Island Airport and established new airspace at Madisonville Airport to improve safety and management of Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) operations, including the addition of a 1-mile radius exclusion around the University of Tennessee Medical Center Heliport and the decommissioning of the Benfi non-directional radio beacon.
