NMFS Adjusts Commercial Aggregated Large Coastal Shark and Hammerhead Shark Management Group Retention Limit

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is increasing the retention limit for commercial shark fishermen in the Atlantic region from 36 to 45 large coastal sharks (excluding sandbar sharks) per vessel per trip, effective immediately, in response to in-season adjustments and to ensure the long-term sustainability of the fishery.
