Medicare Program Revisions for CY 2019: Updates to Payment Policies and Quality Payment Programs

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released a major final rule addressing changes to Medicare payment policies, including updates to the physician fee schedule and the Quality Payment Program, to reflect changes in medical practice and the relative value of services, as well as changes in the statute. The rule also addresses extreme and uncontrollable circumstances faced by MIPS eligible clinicians in CY 2017 due to natural disasters.
