Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration Proposes Amendments to Hazardous Materials Regulations to Harmonize With International Standards

The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) is proposing amendments to the Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) to align with international regulations and standards, including changes to proper shipping names, hazard classes, and air transport quantity limitations, in response to recent updates to the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code and the International Civil Aviation Organization's Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air.
