The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has introduced new policies for the Medicare Shared Savings Program, aiming to increase savings, reduce gaming opportunities, and promote regulatory flexibility. The updated policies provide pathways for Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) to transition to two-sided models, encouraging them to share in savings and repay losses, while also strengthening beneficiary engagement and care coordination.
