Northern States Power Company Exempted by NRC to Use Uncoated Steel in Monticello Nuclear Plant

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has granted an exemption to Northern States Power Company to utilize structural steel columns and beams in the Cable Spreading Room without fireproofing, meeting a fire resistance standard equivalent to the fire barrier.
