U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Certifies Advanced Power Reactor 1400 Standard Design

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has amended its regulations to certify the Advanced Power Reactor 1400 (APR1400) standard design, allowing applicants to construct and operate the design by referencing the certification rule. Korea Electric Power Corporation and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (KEPCO/KHNP) are the primary applicants for the certification.
