U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Proposes Certification of Advanced Power Reactor 1400 Standard Design

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is proposing to amend its regulations to certify the Advanced Power Reactor 1400 (APR1400) standard design, allowing applicants to construct and operate APR1400 reactors by referencing this certification rule, with Korea Electric Power Corporation and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (KEPCO/KHNP) as the applicant for certification.
