Exelon Generation Company LLC Exemptions Reissued by NRC

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has reissued exemptions for Exelon Generation Company, LLC, allowing it to delay the implementation of emergency planning requirements at the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station by 80 days, from 365 days to 285 days after the permanent cessation of power operations, due to reduced risks of accidents that could result in an offsite radiological release at a decommissioning nuclear power reactor.
