NRC Grants Exemption to Navy for Decommissioning of Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generators

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has granted an exemption to the U.S. Navy to remove six Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generators (RTGs) from the Department of the Navy Master Material License No. 45-23645-01NA, allowing for in-situ abandonment and termination of the Naval Radioactive Materials Permit No. 45-4650-N1NP.
