Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation Files Petition for Classification and Application for State In Lieu Lands

The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation has submitted a petition to classify and acquire public lands and mineral estates in lieu of lands the state was entitled to under its Statehood Act, partially satisfying its obligations. The department is extending the review process for the remaining lands included in the application, which was initially proposed in 2016.
