NMFS Requests Public Comment on Exempted Fishing Permit Applications for U.S. West Coast Fisheries

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is seeking public input on twelve exempted fishing permit (EFP) applications that aim to test the use of deep-set buoy gear and deep-set linked buoy gear to harvest swordfish and other highly migratory species off the U.S. West Coast, exempting them from a single prohibition under the HMS FMP.
